"Volunteering for DREAM was the best thing that I have done in a long time. I have gained great satisfaction by helping the local community to gain friends and offer support to others for a worth while charity. Why not try it out and see how much you experience a good feeling of giving up your time for others. I did and found out that it was well worth it."
- Simon Matthews, DREAM Administrator
"Voluntary work helps. I first became a volunteer because I wanted to help other people less able than myself. However, since I started voluntary work I have realised that it helps everyone.
As I had time on my hands after my husband died and I was feeling sorry for myself! I saw an advert in the local paper for a volunteer position at DREAM and since I began approximately three years ago I have realised that apart from helping people less able than myself, I have stopped feeling sorry for myself as it has made me realise that I should be grateful for the life I now have, even though it is not the life my husband and I had planned.
Therefore, I would recommend voluntary work to anyone because, as I said earlier, it benefits both parties tremendously!"
